1.5 years study (96 points) is required for the course completion of the Master of Information Technology 12 subject course.

Admission criteria
Master of Information Technology
For admission to the Master of Information Technology (12 subjects) applicants must have:
- a bachelor's level degree; or
- eligibility for full ACS membership at professional or higher level; or
- at least five years experience at a managerial level in the IT industry and the Graduate Diploma of IT; or
- an associate degree in IT and the Graduate Diploma of IT; or
- three years experience in IT-related work and the Graduate Diploma of IT.
For admission to the Master of Information Technology (16 subjects) applicants must have:
- any of the qualifications / experience criteria listed above for admission into the 12 subject Masters, or;
- the Graduate Diploma of IT.
Graduate Diploma of Information Technology
For admission to the Graduate Diploma of IT, applicants must have:
- a bachelor's level degree or equivalent; or
- at least five years experience at a managerial level; or
- three years experience in IT-related work; or
- a diploma and 1-3 years of relevant professional experience; or
- an advanced/higher diploma or associate degree or equivalent.
Credit
Master of Information Technology
Up to 4 subjects credit may be issued for the 400 level subjects within the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology or the Master of Information Technology for a student with an Australian bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent.
Graduate Diploma of Information Technology
Up to 4 subjects credit may be issued for the 400 level subjects within the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology or the Master of Information Technology for a student with an Australian bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent.
Graduation requirement
Master of Information Technology
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.
Graduate Diploma of Information Technology
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.
Course structure
Graduate Diploma of Information Technology
The Graduate Diploma consists of an Information Technology core comprising four subjects and four Information Technology electives.

ITC493 Information Technology Project Management.
Elective subjects
A minimum of three subjects must be drawn from Information Technology subjects (coded ITC) at postgraduate level. All selections not from the list below must be approved by the Course Coordinator.

Enrolment pattern
Because of the flexibility of the course requirements, there is no prescribed enrolment pattern. Students may choose the order in which they undertake subjects, depending upon the availability of subjects and the meeting of any pre-requisites.
Students are encouraged to enrol in core subjects in the initial sessions and attempt to complete as many of these as possible before selecting strand subjects.
Articulation
The Graduate Diploma articulates with the Master (MInfoTech) degree and credit is awarded in the Master degree for the Graduate Diploma subjects.
Professional recognition
The Master of Information Technology has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society as meeting the academic requirements for full professional membership.
