Abstract: This subject provides the student with a comprehensive view of various common law principles and legislative enactments affecting business activity in the modern world. Topic areas covered include the law relating to companies, the legislative controls on business activity under the Securities Industry legislation and the Trade Practices Act. The law relating to financial failure of business activity is examined and legal issues relating to electronic commerce are explored. Assumed knowledge for this subject is equivalent to that covered in LAW511.
