NRS515 The Nurse as a Clinical Teacher (8)

Abstract: The theoretical underpinnings of this subject adopts the ideas of Benner and Wiedenback and their notions about clinical teaching. A major emphasis of this subject will be the application of heuristics to a selected clinical nursing setting. The educative function of the nurse is examined and explored from both a client centred and professional context. Opportunity is given to apply previous knowledge to selected teaching situation through the preparation, implementation and evaluation of educational materials and interventions.
