Admission criteria
Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education
Applicants must hold an appropriate degree (i.e. undergraduate Bachelor degree) from a recognised university and have a minimum of one year relevant industrial experience or equivalent.
Graduate Certificate in Adult and Vocational Education [exit point only]
Students are admitted to the Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education. The Graduate Certificate in Adult and Vocational Education is an exit point only, therefore admission criteria do not apply.
Credit
Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education
For students who have completed the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment a standard credit package will be issued. This is represented as VET03C - TAA40104 / TAE40110 Certificate IV Credit - 24 subject points and will appear as a FCR conditional upon the successful completion of EEB312 Reflective Practice and Lifelong Learning.
(NOTE: Student must have completed the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and provided a copy of their Certificate and transcript prior to enrolling in EEB312)
Other credit arrangements include:
- If a student is in the process of completing* the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment then proof of enrolment in this course needs to be provided at the point of Application for Admission.
- Students who do not fully complete the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will have the VET03C TAA040104/TAE40110 Certificate IV Credit - 24 subject points Forward Credit rescinded and will be required to complete the full 'Without TAA40104 or TAE40110' course program.
- Students who do not possess the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment before entering, will be required to undertake the complete CSU Adult and Vocational Education course, which has the TAE40110 embedded within it. At the end of the course (provided the relevant subjects are successfully completed) students can apply to CSU Training, the University's Registered Training Organisation, for the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to be issued. This credential attracts a fee and further inquiries can be made direct to CSU Training on 02 69332773 or by email to csutraining@csu.edu.au
- Students who possess the BSZ98 Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training only, have the option of completing the whole CSU Adult and Vocational Education course, or upgrading to the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (either through CSU Training or any RTO that offers it) and then enter the Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education with the TAE40110 and apply for the 24 subject points credit (as indicated above).
- Credit for a partially completed (with no intention to fully complete) TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment will not be granted.
- Credit for a TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment will not be granted following admission to the Grad DIpAdult&VocEd program. Due to the nature of the specific course structures it is not possible for this credit to be retrospective and must therefore be applied for at the point of admission.
For students who commenced their course with CSU before Autumn Session 2006 then the following arrangements apply:
- The TAA40104 and TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment was not addressed in the previous course structures.
- If students held the BSZ98 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training upon entry they may now consider upgrading to the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- If students upgrade to the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment while studying a VET program under the pre-2006 course structure no credit will be granted towards the Graduate Diploma of VET.
Formal arrangements for the award of the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110) have been made with CSU Training.

Articulation
The Graduate Diploma and the Graduate Certificate make up an articulated set of courses and credit is given in each higher level course for the subjects completed in the lower.

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 32 points.
Course structure
Graduate Certificate in Adult and Vocational Education - Exit Point Only
To exit with the Graduate Certificate in Adult and Vocational Education a total of four subjects (32 subject points equivalent) comprised of any combination of subjects from the following list must be successfully completed.
Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education
The course consists of 64 points (equivalent to eight 8-point subjects) comprising seven core subjects and one restricted Elective subject. To graduate students need to complete a total of 64 points. Students who do not hold a current Training and Assessment Qualification (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAA401 4 or TAE401 0) will complete the full program as detailed in the list of the following subjects:
