Admission criteria

Master of Animal Science

The course is restricted to students who have completed an approved undergraduate degree or equivalent experience as determined by the Course co-ordinator. Equivalent experience is defined as direct practical experience of at least 2 years in duration relating to the field within the animal industry which the candidate wishes to specialise in.

The Postgraduate Certificate [exit point only] , the Master and the Postgraduate Diploma [exit point only] make up an articulated set of courses and credit is given in each higher level course for the subjects completed in the lower.

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

The enrolment pattern is flexible and will be developed in consultation with the Course Co-ordinator.
The 2 stipulations for the enrolment pattern are:

Professional recognition

Provision for accreditation of international students for the purpose of progression within their own institutes is envisaged. These institutes may be government, non-government or privately funded. The form that accreditation may take would need to be developed with each organisation and particularly with large organisations servicing the needs of specific industries. For example postgraduate training in animal nutrition may be an in service requirement for promotion to be an Extension Officer within the dairy industry of a developing country.
