Normal course duration

Master of Environmental Management

Full-time 1.5 years (3.0 sessions)

Duration of course is 0.5 EFTY for students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management

Graduate Diploma of Environmental Management [exit point only]

Full-time 1.0 years (2.0 sessions)

Duration of course is 0.5 EFTY for students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management

Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management [exit point only]

Full-time 0.5 years (1.0 sessions)

Admission criteria

Master of Environmental Management

Applicants would normally hold a three year Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or have extensive relevant industry experience to the satisfaction of the course coordinator. Students wishing to apply for admission based on relevant industry experience should discuss requirements with the course coordinator prior to applying.

Credit

Master of Environmental Management

Credit is awarded in either the Master degree for subjects completed in the Graduate Diploma of Environmental Management.

Articulation

The Master, the Graduate Diploma [exit point only] and the Graduate Certificate [exit point only] make up an articulated set of courses and credit is given in each higher level course for the subjects completed in the lower.

Graduation requirement

Master of Environmental Management

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.

Graduate Diploma of Environmental Management [exit point only]

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management [exit point only]

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 32 points.

Course structure

Students select subjects (32 points) from the list below. Note students wishing to exit with a Graduate Certificate level must choose only post-graduate subjects (i.e. code numbers >400) unless they have permission from the Courses Director

Students entering the course from the Bachelor of Environmental Science (with Specialisations) may have completed the requirements of the Graduate Certificate (exit point) depending on their subject selection. After consultation with the Courses Director these students will enrol in subjects listed under Graduate Diploma (exit point) but will not be eligible to graduate with the Graduate Certificate.
