Admission criteria
Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology requires:
- completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited undergraduate psychology course within the previous 10 years;
- a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or better in the core psychology level 2 and 3 subjects; and
-
the successful completion of PSY301 Advanced Research Methods in Psychology;
or - to have what is deemed to be the equivalent of the above three requirements from another institution.

Graduation requirement
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.
Course structure
The Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology is designed to provide students with the opportunity for advanced study in psychology. This course satisfies the minimum academic requirements for provisional registration as a Psychologist.
Students must complete:
- three core coursework subjects (24 points)
- two elective subjects (16 Points)
- a major research project (24 points)

Enrolment pattern
Subject offerings are divided between Bathurst and Wagga Wagga campuses, with core subjects and high-demand electives offered on both campuses and most electives only offered at one campus. Most students will select an enrolment pattern that involves completing all subjects through a single campus, as outlined below. Note that students can choose to enrol in subjects at different campuses, but that a non-standard enrolment pattern may increase the number of separate trips students must make to attend compulsory residential schools.

Professional recognition
The postgraduate Diploma of Psychology has been accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as providing a fourth year of study in psychology. It satisfies the academic requirements for provisional registration and meets the professional training requirements for Associate Membership of the APS.
