The subject may be available either to meet the needs of a particular student or group of students (by way of a set of assessable readings) or to take advantage of a special area of interest or expertise of existing or visiting academic staff. Alternatively, research students may be given permission to undertake a subject in another Faculty to assist them in their dissertation or thesis work.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
* be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of a specialist topic area in accounting
* be able to demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical basis of that specialist topic area
* have the ability to apply knowledge of that specialist topic area to practice

The subject will cover the following topics:
