Abstract:
The Acting Module explores the skills and techniques required for devising an individual performance. The form can be either scripted or structured improvisation. Genres may include dialogue, song, dance, movement, circus skills, stand up comedy, mask, video etc. This work is explored in relation to contemporary comedy and drama scenes. The Voice module focuses on voice and microphone technique for various recording purposes such as radio, dubbing for film and voice over for television. Using the acquired flexibility of the instrument character voices will be explored for the aforementioned learning experiences. The Movement module introduces stage combat, includes physical comedy and buffoonery, and continues to develop solo, partner and group methods of physical expression, and explores various approaches to presentation related to contemporary performance practice.

Show they have acquired sufficient vocal flexibility to create character voices .
Demonstrate they have reached an appropriate standard of stage combat skills.
Exhibit an appropriate level of expertise in physical comedy and buffoonery
Accomplish devised solo, partner and group methods of physical expression at a higher level of expertise.
Demonstrate an appropriate level of presentation skills related to contemporary performance practice.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
Devising an individual performance. Microphone technique skills for various recording purposes such as: Radio Dubbing for film Voice over for television. Vocal flexibility for character voices . Stage combat. Physical comedy and buffoonery Devised solo, partner and group methods of physical expression Presentation skills for contemporary performance practice.
