Abstract:
This subject gives the student the opportunity to investigate in depth an area of personal interest in relation to Agricultural Business Management. This is the capstone subject in the master of Agricultural Business Management program for students and is designed to develop skills in building a research question, formulating strategies to answer that question, and gathering evidence to develop a well reasoned treatise that addresses the research question.
The Agricultural business Management Dissertation principally involves an evaluation of information from a wide range of sources enabling students to formulate a view or perspective on a chosen topic. Field studies may be included but are not expected and would be a minor component.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to develop a focused research question and a framework or methodology of enquiry;
- be able to demonstrate how to access data or information on a specified topic from a wide range of sources including databases of primary sources of information;
- be able to critically appraise and evaluate collected data;
- be able to prepare a written report, dissertation, that develops a well reasoned proposition for which evidence has been gathered and discussed in a logical manner.
- be able to disseminate the outcomes of the dissertation through seminar presentation and preparation of a draft publication.

- Preparation of study proposal
- Collection of data
- Analysis of data
- Preparation of dissertation
- Preparation of publications.
