Abstract:

This subject addresses the scientific basis of human disease, their causes and the response of tissues and organs to these diseases. Morphological and functional changes will be related to routine pathology laboratory investigations.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

* be able to describe in detail the range of pathological processes and the aetiology of human diseases;
* be able to identify the morphological and functional changes associated with different pathological processes; and
* appreciate in general terms the application of pathological processes to routine pathology laboratory investigations.
