Abstract:

This subject will take a multi-disciplinary approach to the examination of the molecular basis of disease. The subject focus is on the application of molecular techniques to assist in the diagnosis of disease and how these techniques can be used to assist treatment of emerging diseases. The subject also addresses the emerging field of ''molecular medicine'' and the translational aspects of molecular pathology in areas such as pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine.
