CLS103 Paramedic Community Internship (8)

Abstract:

This subject explores at an introductory level the ‘professional self’ and introduces the contemporary professional model of community paramedic in a health continuum. This subject will focus on concepts that examine the professional responsibilities of paramedics in multifaceted roles within Australia and International health systems and start to develop the paramedic as a clinical leader in the community.  This subject requires 50 to 100 placement hours in various community venues.

The subject will cover the following topics:

Workplace Learning

This subject contains a Compulsory Workplace Learning component of 14 days duration.

The student will be required to attend placement for 14 days during the session.

Specialised Resources

Students will need to undertake a community based clinical placement of 14 days. Travel, accommodation and any other costs involved with this placement will be borne by the student. Students will also be responsible for obtaining the correct uniform and completing required immunisation and first aid status prior to attending the placement.
