Abstract:

This subject aims to extend the students' knowledge and clinical skills required for the care of patients experiencing acute health emergencies, particularly cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies. Students will need to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to implement advanced life support (ALS) care for the patient with medical emergencies, including the management of obstetric, neonatal and paediatric emergencies.

Assumed Knowledge:

APS401 Prehospital Pharmacology or equivalent
