This subject explores the nature of storytelling using interactive digital media. Students explore the properties of narrative in a non-linear environment, and the impact of digital media on a range of communication industries.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate understanding of the history of digital media;
- be able to demonstrate understanding of commonly used terms and definitions related to digital media production;
- be able to demonstrate understanding of emerging narrative forms possible in digital media environments;
- be able to demonstrate understanding of digital media's impact on contemporary media communication practices and popular culture; and
- be able to demonstrate understanding of the ethical implications of working with interactive digital media.

- History of media and digital technology - The language of digital media - Non-linear, multi-linear and interactive narratives - Ethical implications - Digital media and popular culture - Mobile media & ubiquitous computing - Video and alternate reality games
