Abstract:
This subject develops students screen-based production, directing and research skills. Through the practical production of documentary, current affairs and information segments students study how specific screen-based documentary, current affairs and information programs and segments are produced. Students research and develop a directorial approach to the presentation of screen-based documentary, current affairs and information segments.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to research and develop an Information based script
- be able to present and render an Information based script
- be able to articulate production composition
- be able to direct Information based segments
- be able to construct post production pace and rhythm
- be able to articulate a thorough understanding of directing styles required for Information and Documentary based genres
- be able to work with available production technology
- be able to critically analyse production styles
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- pre production research - script formulation - production planning - production composition - post production manipulation - analysis of production styles
