Abstract:
This subject consists of an individually supervised project resulting in a professional piece of creative work in the student's specialist field plus an exegesis OR in a formal dissertation presenting the results of research.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demontstrate their ability to successfully conduct independent research and present it either as a creative professional project within the fields of communication and the performing arts, including a written exegesis of 4000-6000 words; or as a dissertation of approximately 15000 words.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- Students can expect regular supervisions. There is no set curriculum but the project must fall within at least one of the specialist areas of communication and the performing arts offered in the undergraduate degrees. Supervision will focus on the candidate's preparation and completion of their dissertation or creativre project in reference to the written proposal they delivered in the first session of their Honours course.
- The creative project may be a piece of work offered to or commissioned by a body or individual inside or external to the University, either pro bono or on a cost recovery basis, provided it falls within the limits set by the panel. While production of the work may be within an agency or theatre company model, involving other undergraduate students, the candidate must have creative control of the work.
