Abstract:
This subject requires students to independently research and analyse the application of communication theory and strategy in an area of professional interest previously addressed in the course.

Enrolment restrictions:
Restricted to Master of Arts (Organisational Communication) who have already undertaken at least 2 subjects of the course.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to demonstrate ability to design and conduct independent secondary research;
demonstrate ability to analyse and criticise the implementation of communication strategies within a particular area or industry;
provide insight and recommendations for managers in the area of study; and
demonstrate ability to write and report a case study that meets both academic and professional presentation and content requirements.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- The identification and exploration of academic and professional sources - Preparation of literature reviews - Research methodology for the development and analysis of case studies - Professional report writing techniques Specialist advice will be available on request in terms of content and methodology.
