Abstract:

This subject aims to enhance the skills of analysis of corporate leadership performance and the understanding of the processes of adapting leadership to emerging organisational structures and culture and changes in the macro environment, to reformulate the organisation's future. Each participant will apply skills of comparative analysis to two cases chosen by the facilitator and develop two other cases and develop a comparative case report.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- Understand processes, informed by related theory and research, of adapting leadership in response to emerging organisational structures and culture and changes in the macro environment;
- Understand and develop creative approaches to reformulating the organisation's future and the organisation.
- Apply enhanced skills of analysis of corporate leadership performance;
- Evaluate critically leadership within and between large organisations; and
- Appreciate the significance of leadership adaptability and creativity in corporate success.

The subject will cover the following topics:

- Approaches to case analysis of corporate leadership - Case analyses of corporate leadership performance: historical and contemporary - Developing case analyses - Applying case analysis outcomes in the framework of leadership theory and research
