CSU Discipline Area: Dentistry and Oral Health (DENOH)

Abstract:
Students participate in clinical placement programs in the provision of clinical care in varied settings in regional NSW. Each clinical site will have students providing dental care under supervision. Clinical learning is reinforced by means of case analysis, case reviews and clinical session reviews by clinical staff.

Restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Dental Science course.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
-be able to demonstrate competent knowledge, patient management and clinical skills across all aspects of clinical dentistry.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
-Clinical oral dental public health
-Clinical delivery of oral health care to regional, rural and remote communities
-Comprehensive treatment planning
-Clinical provision of acute care
-Ethics and jurisprudence
