Abstract:

This subject is designed for beginning students enrolled in the BEd Primary program. This subject acknowledges the changes that students undergo as they make the transition to University study, and the subject provides students with a range of scaffolded learning experiences that will make this process more effective. The subject introduces students to University expectations and support services in relation to literacy, information seeking skills, teaching and learning, assessment and academic help. The subject also prepares students for the profession by orienting them towards professional attitudes and behaviours including collaborative skills, acceptance of diversity and inclusion, and the development of interpersonal skills.
