Abstract:
This subject provides the skills and knowledge to produce a hazard analysis/ risk assessment for a community/enterprise. This will include developing an understanding of hazard identification, hazard characteristics, community characteristics, interaction consequences, risk assessment and vulnerability.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- be able to specify the characteristics of hazards and risks, including appropriate specific hazard and risk descriptions.
- be able to specify the characteristics of a community/enterprise, including appropriate specific community/enterprise descriptions.
- be able to determine the impact of hazards on a community/enterprise.
- be able to describe and apply the concept of vulnerability assessment.
- be able to review a vulnerability assessment process.
