EPT412 Extended Professional Experience K/P-12 (16)

CSU Discipline Area: Professional Studies (PROFL)

Duration: One session

Abstract:

Students in the final year of their course will work in a school for a term (10 weeks). It is anticipated that students will work in middle school programs. As schools and clusters express and operate their understanding of middle school in innovative ways, this professional experience may involve working in varying combinations of primary and secondary schools. This experience is expected to provide a realistic opportunity to reflect on the work of a middle school educator within the context of a community. During this 10 week professional experience students will be members of staff in this setting and will be responsible for groups of children with whom they will work as an associate teacher. Students will reflect on their developing profile as an educator and evaluate the contribution of this extended experience to their professional growth.
