Abstract:
This subject examines the management of risk in financial institutions from the treasury perspective. That is, the subject focuses on the identification, measurement and management of non-credit risks faced by financial institutions. Contemporary issues such as asset securitisation and bank transfer pricing are also examined.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
Develop the students awareness of the changing environment of the finance industry, and explore its implications for a range of policy issues including liquidity, capital adequacy, interest rate risk management and bank asset pricing.
Develop the students ability to use the techniques of financial management to analyse the performance of financial institutions and determine the implications of strategic decisions for the profitability, liquidity, balance sheet structure and capital adequacy of financial institutions.
