Abstract:
The subject aims to develop an understanding of a representative range of issues in international finance and global financial markets. It covers topics such as spot and forward exchange rates, interest rate parity, currency hedging and exchange rate forecasting techniques. It focusses on the internationalisation of markets, global financial crisis and on international corporate governance issues.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
Be able to explain the basic concepts and terms in international finance.
Be able to explain the key theoretical relationships and to manipulate these relationships in both diagrammatic and arithmetic terms.
Be able to discuss the functioning limitations and new developments in international financial markets.
Be able to evaluate international financial market of income;
Be able to apply relevant theories and techniques in solving quantitative problems in international finance.

2. The foreign exchange market
3. Measuring and managing transaction exposure
4. Measuring and managing operating exposure
5. International banking
6. International debt & equity markets
7. Interest rate risk management and currency swaps
8. Foreign investment theory
9. Multinational capital budgeting
10. Corporate governance in a globalised world
