Abstract:
This subject examines the importance of advertising; it's function, its diversity, its impact and its affect through all mediums including television, press, radio, print and the web. This subject also aims to give students the opportunity to explore in detail aspects of print, publishing and identity.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to work and liaise with real clients and deal with their specific briefs
- be able to demonstrate an understanding of all facets of advertising including press, radio, television or new media
- be able to demonstrate an understanding of pre-press, the colour printing process and all forms of publishing
- be able to demonstrate sufficient skills to produce effective ads, promotional campaigns and advanced publishing
- be able to examine the importance of clever and effective copy writing, identity and promotions
- be able to prepare detailed campaign proposals backed by well documented research

- Advertising campaigns - Understanding the brief - Media planning - Working with clients - Pre-press and print production - Single and multi colour printing - Identity and style sheets
