Duration: Two sessions
Abstract:
This subject is an independent research study in health where, with the assistance of a supervisor, students implement the research proposal normally developed in HLT506. This project may involve the critical review and evaluation of existing data and knowledge or the collection, analysis and interpretation of new data. Students will be expected to relate their study to practical applications within their specific discipline.

Prerequisite(s):
(HLT505 or BMS500 ) and HLT506
Enrolment restrictions:
Restricted to students enrolled in health related Master's courses.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to undertake, under the guidance of a supervisor, an independent research project in the field of health;
be able to document the findings in the form of a publishable article ready for submission to a peer reviewed professional journal;
be able to document the process for the entire project as a portfolio including the publishable article, and all components of the HLT506 proposal subject;
be able to apply the results to clinical practice in the student's areas of specialisation.

The subject will cover the following topics:
Individual research project, associated with student's specialisation of study, conducted under the guidance of a Research Supervisor.
