Abstract:
In this subject, with the assistance of a supervisor, students undertake independent research implementing the proposal approved in HLT506.

(HLT505 or BMS500 ) and HLT506
Enrolment restrictions:
Restricted to students enrolled in health related Master's courses.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
undertake an independent research project in the field of health science and document the process and finding in an academically appropriate form.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
Each student will undertake independent research under the guidance of a Research Supervisor and/or research team. The dissertation will be expected to meet the following criteria: a clear, well argued and critical exposition of the research problem, methodology and findings; builds on and extends current knowledge in the topic area by linking project to a critical review of relevant literature; demonstrates an ability to work independently according to a predetermined schedule; demonstrates an appropriate application of research design, data collection methods and data analysis; relates the specific research topic to the wider field of knowledge within the health sciences.
