Duration: Two sessions

Abstract:

This subject is an independent investigation in a health-related topic involving the critical review of the existing literature and either: (a) the collection, analysis and interpretation of new data; or (b) the original analysis and interpretation of existing published data. Students will conduct their investigation under the supervision of an appropriate CSU academic.

(HLT505 or BMS500 ) and (HLT506 or BMS508 )

Enrolment restrictions:

The subject is designed for students enrolling in the Master of Health Science course but might be appropriate for students enrolled in other courses with permission from both the subject and course coordinators.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

* have developed the knowledge, skills and capacity to analyse, evaluate and review current research literature;
* have developed the capacity for independent scholarship and/or research;
* be able to see the relevance of their findings to the practice of their health discipline.
