Abstract:

This subject covers the nature and application of the "micro-skills" and processes of conflict resolution needed for a person to implement conflict resolution strategies successfully in practice and to institute conflict prevention/resolution systems in an ethically responsible manner.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- be able to discuss the twelve skills of conflict resolution;
- be able to explain the win/win model underlying these skills;
- be able to distinguish mere use of conflict resolution skills from ethical and principled applications;
- be able to explain the need for organisational designers to embody conflict resolution processes into their structures;
- be able to explain the design of systems for conflict prevention and resolution.
