Duration: Two sessions
Abstract:
The subject is one of a suite of Honours research subjects allowing a sufficiently flexible combination of subjects to reflect the subject equivalent load of their Honours research project. Within these subjects, students will develop an advanced level of knowledge in a nominated discipline, and develop research, verbal and written skills in a specialised field. The Honours research includes the presentation of two seminars, project reports and a final dissertation.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant to conducting research, especially for entry to higher degree courses;
- demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in the area of specialisation;
- demonstrate verbal and written skills relevant to advanced studies.

All Honours students are required to submit at least two progress reports during their program as well as present at least one seminar on their research topic. This mid-term review of progress will allow the identification of problem areas which may lead to reduced progress and completion rates in individual courses or students, thus enabling the re-evaluation of course structures and student workloads, as appropriate.
