Duration: Two sessions
Abstract:
Students are exposed to a range of information agencies in order to gain a deeper understanding of the career opportunities available within the profession, and to understand how various information agencies function to service a particular clientele. Students will utilise their e-portfolio to record their learning, knowledge and skill development.

Not available to students who have completed INF118 or INF108
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to describe the operation of a range of information agencies and how these interact with their users;
- be able to discuss the range and variety of information agencies and the services they offer;
- be able to demonstrate their understanding of the concept of a portfolio for learning, career planning and development;
- be able to use their e-portfolio to record key learning outcomes and reflections from their participation in study visits, and from their own prior and current knowledge and experience.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- Overview of a variety of libraries and information organisations - The role of portfolios in learning, career planning and development - E-portfolios
