Abstract:
This subject requires students to attend and report on a minimum of 30 hours of professional activities (such as conference sessions, seminars, workshops) of value to the development of library and information services professionals.

Enrolment restrictions:
Available only to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Library and Information Science) or the Bachelor of Applied Science (Library & Information Management). Not available to students who have completed INF307 .
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- have experienced a range of library and information services professional activities at local, regional, state, national or international level;
- be aware of the value of continuing professional development as a component of professional practice;
- be able to evaluate professional development activities; and
- be prepared to plan their own career and professional development.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- topics of interest to, and appropriate to the professional development needs of each student; and - guidelines for choosing and evaluating a range of professional activities.
