Abstract:
This subject will expose students to a range of information agencies so that they gain a deeper understanding of both the career opportunities available within the profession, and how various information agencies function to service a particular clientele.

Enrolment restrictions:
Only available to students enrolled in Master of Information Studies (and the Graduate Diploma of Information Studies - Entry point only for Hong Kong University - SPACE students).
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to describe the operation of a range of information agencies and how these interact with their users;
- be able to discuss the range and variety of information agencies and the services they offer and
- reflect upon how these operations fit with what has been learnt through formal coursework.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- Overview of a variety of libraries and information organisations
- Provides the link between practice and classroom learning.
