Abstract:
The subject introduces the student to international information agencies, intercultural information concerns, and how information services differ between nations, covering a range of global information issues. Students will explore the information infrastructures of various countries and the influence of changing information and communication technologies on these infrastructures.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to think and write critically about international information issues;
be able to evaluate the role of libraries and other information agencies in different countries and cultures worldwide;
be able to compare information infrastructures and policies on an international scale;
be able to analyse and describe comparative and international reserach related to libraries and information agencies.
