Abstract:
This subject examines the employment relations systems of Great Britain, The United States of America, Germany, Japan, China and India. This is done in context of economic, social, cultural and political developments in each country. Similarities, differences, and patterns of convergence and divergence are studied.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- critically reflect on the application of a comparative method in studying employment relations systems;
- analyse the employment relations systems of selected countries, with reference to current issues in global business;
- apply industrial relations theory to analyse patterns of convergence and divergence in national employment relations systems; and
- demonstrate the ability to prepare analytical, evidence-based argument in academic and business settings.
