Abstract:
This subject introduces the student to the role of management in a broking operation, in particular to the requirements of Policy Statement 164 Licensing: organisational capacities as necessary for an Australian Financial Services Licence.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate an understanding of the insurance broking industry and typical broking structures
- be able to explain the organisational requirements and other obligations of an Australian Financial Services Licensee as set out in Policy Statement 164 Licensing: Organisational capacities
- be able to develop an operational business plan for a broking organisation
- be able to explain the key tasks involved in human resource management of a broking organisation
- be able to assess market needs and develop a marketing plan for a broking organisation
