Industry practice and experience is the focus of this subject:
it involves case studies and a group study tour of irrigation
installations, the presentation of reports and the application
of problem solving skills.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
present two reports on a water agency, on-farm or other appropriate component of the irrigation system
report on a group study of the management and control of the distribution system
describe the consequences of irrigation farming that they have observed on a group study tour
apply basic problem solving skills to irrigation contexts
demonstrate costing and budgeting skills using an irrigation installation or distribution maintenance process as a case study
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
1. Irrigation experience 1 One week work experience and development of a case study pertinent to field irrigation management or delivery system management. 2. Irrigation experience 2 or 2.
