ISL365 Advanced Arabic Grammar I (8)

Abstract:

This subject builds on ISL263 and introduces advanced Arabic grammatical rules in the further uses of verbs in complex sentence structures and tenses. Classification of sentences, sentence analysis and use of particles will the addressed. Writing, reading, speaking and comprehension practice is included to build further proficiency in Arabic language.

The subject will cover the following topics:

Residential School

This subject contains a optional 2 day residential school.

The purpose of the optional residential school is to provide an opportunity for exploration of the overall coursework covered. In addition to content review, this part of the course aims to facilitate an interactive session between the teaching academics and students.


Face to face teaching is an important part of learning a language. Students will be involved in small group exercises, discussions, visual presentation and one-on-one sessions with the subject coordinator, lecturers and tutors. This will enable the students and teaching staff to address any issues that may arise. Material and summary content covered in this session will be a valuable contribution towards the major assessment tasks.
