Abstract:

This subject will allow students to undertake a project closely related to an area in which they wish to specialise.  Students will be expected to locate, read, critique and synthesise appropriate literature on a research topic within the area of Information Technology. Students will be expected to become very familiar with the literature in their field of research, and to understand the major concepts, issues, problems, theories, and gaps within the field of research. Students will be expected to thoroughly understand the strengths and weaknesses of the methodologies by which knowledge in the field has been acquired. In addition, this subject focuses on the research ethics relevant to the field of their research. By the end of the subject the students should be able to develop a framework of the research project based on relevant literature and appropriate methodology.
