Abstract:
The major aim of this subject is to give the students the skills and knowledge required to complete the A+ computing essentials industry certification examination developed by the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to identify types and characteristics of PC components, including motherboard, CPU, memory, and storage, input, and output devices;
- be able to install and configure peripheral devices;
- be able to identify types and characteristics of portable computers;
- be able to install and configure Microsoft Windows;
- be able to perform basic PC maintenance and troubleshooting;
- be able to demonstrate fundamental principles of securing IT systems and working safely;
- be able to install and configure print and imaging devices;
- be able to describe fundamental principles of implementing LANs and internet access.
