Abstract:
The aim of this subject is to introduce students to some of the fundamental issues concerning network connectivity, desktop operating systems, security, and applications. This is done via the entry-level Business Desktop Deployment Certification, which also prepares students to enter the IT workforce. It plays a key part in the first phase of the Bachelor of Industry Computing by assisting students to gain essential workforce credentials before embarking on the remainder of the program.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to deploy desktop operating systems;
be able to automate and customize deployments by using scripts and answer files;
be able to deploy applications during and after operating system deployments;
be able to deploy upgrade packages;
be able to maintain and optimize systems that run Windows desktops;
be able to configure and troubleshoot mobile computing;
be able to install and upgrade Windows desktops;
be able to configure and troubleshoot post-installation system settings; and
be able to configure Windows security features.
