Abstract:

This subject is for information systems professionals and database designers and implementers. The subject steps through the planning and implementing of a database along with creating and maintaining database objects and database integrity. The subject also introduces students to Transact-SQL and how to use Transact-SQL to query a SQL server database and manage and manipulate data stored in that database.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- describe the basic elements of SQL server 2000;
- design a SQL server enterprise application architecture;
- describe the conceptual basis of programming in Transact-SQL;
- create and manage databases and their related components;
- implement data integrity;
- plan for the use of indexes;
- implement user-defined functions;
- using stored procedures; and
- create and implement triggers.
