Abstract:

This subject will introduce students to research methodology in the area of policing and law enforcement. It will provide students with the opportunity to prepare their dissertation proposal in a structured and tightly supervised manner ensuring that all students maximise their potential to successfully complete the Masters program. The subject will require students to develop the research hypothesis in consultation with their supervisor. Students will be required to select and develop appropriate research method(s). They will also be required to conduct a literature review and seek all 'approvals' required before conducting the proposed research.

Enrolment restrictions:

Must have successfully completed at 'credit' grade or above all of the requirements of one of the associated Graduate Diploma Courses. The associated courses are the Graduate Diploma of Investigation Management, Fraud and Financial Investigation,Criminal Intelligence, Terrorism Safety and Security.

The residential school provides students with the opportunity to share their research outcomes, and revisit learning in specific areas of research activity.
