Abstract:
This is an industry based subject focused on the use of Project Management Lifecycles as a means for delivering organisational objectives. The subject will guide the participant from the start of a project idea, through planning, creation of deliverables and handover to the customer or client. An appreciation of what controls and processes are needed to maximise chances of a successful result will be gained with practical application in a simulated environment.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1) be able to explain the importance of Project Lifecycle Frameworks, and discuss how business analysis and project management can work together in a balanced way;
2) be able to explain the importance of business analysis and project management within a project lifecycle;
3) be able to identify and compare some of the project management principles used by successful organisations;
4) be able to explain the roles and responsibilities of the business analyst and project manager;
5) be able to discuss best practice methods for requirements determination, analysis and reporting;
6) be able to use project definition tools and templates.

- An overview of the project lifecycle
- Project initiation
- Project management planning
- Project analysis and design
- Project execution
- Project closure
