Abstract:
This subject is designed to equip students with a keen appreciation of operations management - the "real work" of the enterprise or organisation and the integration of technology, people and processes. It focuses on the management of the design, production and delivery of services, and the application of operations concepts, tools, techniques and systems for improving performance. The curriculum is also directed at an understanding of the strategic processes involved in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of service and manufacturing operations in the global business environment. The topics in the subject will equip students with a number of quantitative and other analytical skills required to review a range of situations and developing appropriate recommendations for enhancing effectiveness and efficiency.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
