Abstract:

The purpose of this subject is to develop awareness of and the skills applicable to managing people from a cross-cultural perspective.

The subject draws on information from the disciplines of Human Resource Management, Management and International Business and the subject materials are designed with the Chinese student in mind.

Enrolment restrictions:

Students completing Stage's I, II and III of the Bachelor of Business Studies China Program or students enrolled in a Transnational Education Partner Program only.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

Analyse the cultural context of international management.
Explain the scope of and trends in international management.
Appreciate the need to develop effective cross-cultural and cross-national interactions.
Understand the differences between operating in an international business environment and a purely domestic business environment.
Develop and enhance leadership skills across cultures and within global environments.
