Abstract:
The purpose of this subject is to develop awareness of and the skills applicable to managing people from a cross-cultural perspective.
The subject draws on information from the disciplines of Human Resource Management, Management, International Business, Ethics and Business Communications and the subject materials are designed with the Chinese student in mind.

Enrolment restrictions:
Students completing Stage's I, II and III of the Bachelor of Business Studies China Program or students enrolled in a Transnational Education Partner Program only.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
* Appreciate the need to develop effective cross-cultural and cross-national business and personal interactions.
* Develop effective international business communications skills.
* Appreciate the application of such concepts as business and professional ethics from a global perspective.
* Determine how to communicate more effectively in cross-cultural settings.
* Develop and enhance communications skills and ethical practices across cultures and within global environments.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
a. Intercultural and Cross Cultural Business Communications. b. Developing Effective Communication in Global Settings. c. Perspectives on International Business Communications. d. Negotiations in International Management. e. Power and Influence in Global Settings. f. Structure and Control in International Management. g. International Management - Social and Ethical Issues.
