Duration: Eight sessions
Abstract:
This is the research subject for the Doctor of Ministry. The subject of the thesis will concentrate on one field of the professional practice of ministry. In consultation with an approved supervisor the candidate will develop and refine the subject for presentation as a thesis, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the scholarly debate relevant to the field chosen and a capacity for both critical analysis of, and constructive contribution to, that debate. The completed thesis must be a substantial contribution to the professional practice of ministry.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate advanced competence in methods of theological research
- be able to demonstrate a superior understanding of the field of study
- be able to demonstrate a higher order knowledge of the scholarly debate relevant to the field chosen of investigation
- be able to demonstrate a higher order skill for both critical analysis of, and constructive contribution to, that debate
- be able to develop and refine the subject for presentation as a thesis in the professional practice of ministry.
- be able to demonstrate the originality of the work embodied in the thesis
