MIS311 Imaging Pathology 2 (8)

CSU Discipline Area: Medical Radiation Science (MEDRA)

Duration: One session

Abstract:

This subject focuses on the disease processes specifically encountered in medical imaging and following on from MIS 211 (Imaging Pathology 1) and MIS 203 (Applied Anatomy). The aim is to provide an understanding of the basic principles of pathology and an awareness of the imaging appearances of specific pathological conditions seen in general radiography, computerised tomography, ultrasound, angiography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and magnetic resonance imaging examinations. This will enhance the students ability to produce optimum diagnostic images, and to become a more knowledgeable member of the diagnostic team.
